Adventures in Hawaii: Snorkeling at Molokini Crater

What happens when you try to catch Santa?

If you've been reading this blog much, you've heard about my 8-year-old daughter, Libby. She is hilarious and comes up with the darndest things sometimes. I think she about topped herself on Christmas Eve.

Libby determined to try and catch Santa in the act by videoing him secretly. She set up a blanket in the corner of the living room, and set the camera in the blanket folds so that the lens was just sticking out. Oh, she was quite pleased with herself too! She was sure she would succeed, and gave me strict instructions to make SURE the camera was still working when I went to bed. Of course, I did just that.

Here's what Libby found Christmas morning:

A letter from none other than BUDDY the ELF. You know, Buddy who says "The best way to spread Christmas cheer is by singing loudly for all to hear?" Yeah, that Buddy the Elf.)

As for the video camera? Just like Buddy said, Santa's magic can't be recorded. It was as blank as the white snow outside on our lawn. But Libby was okay with that. In her words, "I GOT A NOTE FROM BUDDY THE ELF!! SANTA TOLD HIM TO WRITE IT!" It is stuck away among her prized possessions. :)
